Pawan Kalyan might reach unreachable heights by end of 2014.

I am not predicting astrology but this is a sheer guess work. Looking at how the Telugu film industry is etching it’s up coming releases I feel Pawan Kalyan with one more block buster hit in 2014 might leave everyone else in the industry far behind him.

Image

Few of the contenders for the number one spot in the Telugu film industry are Mahesh Babu, Junior NTR and Prabhas probably. Other than that there is no other major competition from others in the industry. If we look at the future of each of these heroes, Mahesh is heavily relying on the success of ONE (Nenokkadine) and considering the track record of the director of the movie Sukumar, he pens a very typical character for the hero of the movie. If the character gels well with the image of Mahesh Babu, the movie would be a block buster but if the audience find it hard to connect to the characterization, it would turn out to be a dud at the box office. And to get back the same craze that Mahesh carries right now, it would take at least an year.

Image

Junior NTR is not in contention for the top spot until he proves mettle with at least couple of back to back hits. The political scenario in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Regions is not helping his cause because, even if a good movie is made we are not sure if the movie would be released in theaters due to the political turmoil. His upcoming flicks promise to have some substance (Rabhasa and Dana Veera Soora Karna) and might prove mighty hits for him but until both the movies are block busters, he would not be in close comparison with the fan mania of Pawan Kalyan.

Image

Prabhas has earned very good fan following with movies like Darling, Mr. Perfect and Mirchi off late but he does not have any release slated for the entire 2014 and his next release is only in 2015. But in 2015 with a movie like Bahubali in the hands of magician Rajamouli, he might create a wave in the industry but more than an year gap from the industry is a huge time off. Until and unless both Part 1 and Part 2 of Bahubali make us remember Prabhas for the next 5 years, it is tough to create that mania among people. And the problem with such a movie like Bahubali is the responsibility of matching the expectations of people. I mean, even if Bahubali turns out to be a massive massive hit, for Prabhas to withstand the electricity that such a movie generates with every movie is very difficult.

Image

So with all that in mind, only Mahesh is a near contender for generating the same mass hysteria that Pawan is generating right now in 2014. And all the eyes are waiting to see the success of his next movie ONE. If that doesn’t succeed and if Pawan’s next movie (Gabbar Singh 2) already having great expectations turns out to be a block buster, then we can undoubtedly say Pawan Kalyan would be the face of Telugu Film industry in terms of collections and Mass Following and he might reach untouchable heights by the end of 2014. Lets wait and see how 2014 pans out for these stars. All the best to each one of them.

Disclaimer: This is just a thought with lot of hypothetical situations. As a movie lover, I want every movie to be a good movie and every star to be successful. I enjoy every movie as it comes on the merit of the movie and this blog is just an opinion and not intended to hurt anyone’s feelings. 🙂

The trend of releasing the Entire Song (Item Song) before the movie…

Recent trend in Hindi cinema promoting has been to release that one song which the producer/director feels is the USP of the movie way before the movie actually hits the screen. Not sure how much that worked in the favor of the cinema but definitely the web broadcasting sites like youtube and social networking sites like facebook made immense of the opportunity. Lets go back a little and see a couple of movies which had the same philosophy…
1. Tees Maar Khan: I believe this was the first movie which was promoted this way and the song of course is Sheila Ki Jawani… The song has been a blockbuster and my personal rating would be 4/5 with all ingredients of a mass masala song with good dance movements from Katrina… But by releasing a song which is so successful I think the director bombed the movie right away… it is really tough to keep up to the expectations of such huge success for the entire movie… and gosh Akshay Kumar is the hero… so audience also should be blamed for expecting so much 😛

2. Second movie was Ra One and the song of course is Chammak Challo… I dont want to spend the same amount of time on this one because we know the result of the movie…

3. And now I see Chameli dancing for the movie Agneepath… hope the movie is not a bomb like the other two because Hrithik and Sanjay would make some difference I believe… unlike the other two movies mentioned above in which the lead actors believe only on hype and masala… these two actors believe in performance and they try to perform… 🙂

The song which created waves all over country off late “Kolaveri Di” also I fear is not one that belongs to this cadre… the song gives a good beat and a good feel to all the listeners but I hope the movie is not a dud…

Lets see how the trend is going forward and lets see how the movies fare at the box office…

Robo Review: The best SCI-FI movie I have seen in the recent past.

Hello friends,

I was lucky today to see the magnum opus creation of director Shankar “ROBO”. At the end of the movie all I could say was WOW!!! PHENOMENAL!!! Shankar could make complete justice to every penny that he spent on the movie. You could feel that in every frame of the movie. To review the movie in detail, here is what I felt while watching the movie.

Rajni and Aish in Robo

Performances:

Rajni: Phenomenal performance by this legend. I gained immense respect towards his acting skills after watching this performance of his. Especially the role he played as Robot. I heard one of my friends saying, in one of the review he read, the reviewer mentioned the Robot did better acting than Rajni. The Reviewer might have not seen the movie?

Well in one statement about Rajni in the movie…

Unparalleled performance: No one can replace him in the movie.

Aishwarya/Sana: By far the most stunning performance by Aish in this movie. The best part of the movie was the absence of anyone from the Bachan family. 🙂 She was looking gorgeous in the movie and the fact that this movie has to appeal to international audience as well justified Shankar’s choice of Aish for this movie. Every costume looked fabulous on her and I personally have not seen her so beautiful in any of her earlier movies. May be I did not see all of her movies but yeah, after all this is what I felt. 😛

So on similar lines just like Rajni, Aish was irreplaceable in this movie.

Finally, the most important element and performer.

Special Effects:

The special effects in this movie were second to none of the Hollywood movies. I felt so damn proud to look at the last 20 minutes of the movie. It takes a immaculate brain to think what Shankar has penned for this climax and from the bottom of my heart I bow down in respect to this man. To get a good feel of this movie along with the special effects in the movie, you have to watch it in a really good theatre. Being in Hyderabad, I was blessed with a chance to watch this movie IMAX big screen and the experience was mind blowing.

I am not a big fan of SCI-FI movies. And, I might sound too partial when I am saying this but frankly, I fell asleep in the theatre while I was watching the biggest SCI-FI movies of Hollywood, “The Dark Knight” and “AVATAR”. But all through the 3 hours duration of Robo, I was completely engrossed in the movie. Thanks to the ambience in which I was watching to movie.

Well I am still in the trance of the magnanimity of the greatest creation in Indian Cinema. Three cheers and Hats Off to Shankar for this creation.

I would end this review by simply saying,

ROBO ROCKS. WATCH IT WITHOUT MISS.

For all of you in Hyderabad who want to watch this movie:

WATCH IT IN PRASADS IMAX.

My Rating: 4.5/5

Thanks,

Krishna Chaitanya Emani.

Robo… Endhiran… Most awaited movie of the year

Hey Guys,

I have been waiting for this movie for a long long time… ever since Shankar announced it’s title. I was always looking forward for this movie and now that I have checked the trailer of this movie, I feel its worth the wait.

The music by the maestro A.R. Rahman was completely different and clicked a new beat. I felt it was a bit off beat when I heard it the first time but the second time onwards, it just got stuck the right note in my mind and it has been just Robo songs for the last couple of weeks. Kilimanjaro is the pick of the lot and my personal favorite.

Coming to the expectations about the movie… Shankar, Rajni combo along with the Indian beauty Aish in it. What more to ask for? 3 hours shouldn’t be a big ask for the director keep the audience engaged. The presence of Aish can only enhance the screen a little because when Rajni is on the screen, he steals the show doesn’t he? At 65 this man is looking as young as ever.

The other important factor is technical brilliance of the director Shankar speaks for itself, be it the scanning through the websites scene in the Aparichitudu (Anniyan) or the huge settings in Shivaji. The special effects in Robo are done by a team from Hollywood and it should definitely be a visual treat for our eyes.

A whopping budget of more than 150 crores for a regional movie? Well should even call it a regional movie anymore? It is being released with 3000 prints all over the world. Let me say an Indian movie because its not just Tamil Nadu and Andhra that waits for Rajni’s movie anymore, it’s the entire nation.

With all these expectations and hopes, the movie is all set to hit the theatres tomorrow (1st October, 2010). I am eagerly waiting to watch the movie and I hope it would be a blockbuster, erasing every other record of Indian Cinema.

GO ROBO GO!!!

Rajni's Stunning Look in Robo

A Classic of a Classic: Mayabazar Color.

Hello all,

I happened to go to this movie “Mayabazar Color”. I think there would be hardly any person in Andhra Pradesh who did not watch this classical blockbuster movie. Even the black and white movie was an out and out entertainer and to make a movie with such special effects in 1957 itself is an achievement. I have seen that movie more than 30 times and when I heard about the movie being re-released as a color version, I was hoping it would not be a disaster like Sholay’s Remake (RGV ka AAG :-P).

But unlike AAG, the producer of this movie was sensible enough to understand that he cannot reproduce or remake a classical movie like Mayabazar. So, he banked on the originality of the script and the exceptional ensemble of talent that was in the movie. The movie does not need a review about the story, acting skills, screenplay or music. All these have been proved almost 5 decades ago but what needs to be mentioned about in this venture “Mayabazar Color” is the technical brilliance.

The color combination’s selected for all the actors is phenomenal and I have not seen the Sr. NTR or Savitri so beautiful ever on a color screen. I think they themselves would admit that they looked the best in this new color Mayabazar than in any of the color movies they acted in.

I would recommend everyone of you to go and watch the movie. In fact I would say, it would not be a bad idea to add sub-titles to the movie and release it other countries as well. This would attract a lot of Americans and they would be aw-struck by the ornaments and culture portrayed in the movie :-).

2 Thumbs up for this magnum opus movie and hearty congratulations to the makers of the movie. I would love to watch many other classical movies like this in color though it might not create the same impact.

NTR Senior more beautiful than ever.

Gorgeous Savitri

Jr. NTR Adhurs!!! Almost justified the name…

Hello guys,

I have been to the movie Adhurs today and I felt it is a very entertaining flick. The movie is an out and out family entertainer and there was never a moment in the movie when I felt the screenplay was dragging or the story was dragging. The intelligence of the director is so obvious in the movie that the comedy track was handled with exceptional care.

The characters were very apt and to my surprise, Jr. NTR did an exceptional job in both the roles in the movie. His dances do not need a mention as everyone knows what miracles he can do with his moves. The heroines did a fair job as well, frankly I think the heroine hardly matters in a movie which has an NTR or Mahesh Babu or Prabhas. They are only there to add glamor to the movie and they definitely did justice to their roles.

Padmasri Bramhanandam’s role should definitely be appreciated in the movie. He is the greatest gift Telugu film industry has ever got and he maintained his class with quality jokes and expressions. The scenes between Jr. NTR and Brahmi created laughter waves in the theater and after many days I have seen the entire theater moving in their chairs for the comedy.

Personally I feel this is a definite watch for anyone who likes to spend some good time with family and have a laugh out.

Good work NTR. Hope to see more good movies from you.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi… I think the Phrase has lost its value…

My Friends mentioned it to me every second that I will not like the movie but I still dared to watch the movie…

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi…

After watching the movie, I felt the phrase which is used with such great respect has lost its value being used as movie title for such a movie…

I am afraid if the Indian Audience have lost the sense of decision making as to which movies to watch and which movies not to watch. I read the reviews of the movie, I knew that there are two roles played by our KING KHAN in the movie. All the expectations were set right before I started the movie. I was under such a bad opinion about the movie when I started watching it that I felt may be I would feel its ok as I have the least expectations of the movie. Inspite of that I felt it was an atrocious and ridiculous movie.

I am sorry guys I am really lost of words as to how to describe the stupidness of the movie. I am still in the trance of the movie that I am not able to even think any words. I dont want to talk about the story again and mention about the silly points in this blog to make it repetitive.

I only wanted to appeal to people, if you liked the movie enjoy it and watch it as many times as you want but please do not send movies like this and OM SHANTI OM or SINGH IS KING to oscars and say that this is the quality of movies that we can make in India. I really do not want that to happen when there are great great movie makers in such a huge country like India.

Thats all guys… Let me say one positive thing about this movie, it has inspired me to come back to blogs and cry out the anguish about the pathetic movie in this blog. I am sure there will be many hot and heated responses to this blog but I dont care… I think I have the right to say my opinion of the movie…

Sincerely,

Chaitanya.

Nuvvu Nenu Prema… Movie looks pretty good…

Nuvvu Nenu Prema

I saw this movie Nuvvu Nenu Prema yesterday and felt that the movie was quite well made. The movie talks about Gautham (Surya) who comes to the village and marries a girl called Vaishnavi (Jyothika). Vaishnavi has ideas of loving a guy and then marrying him as she is under the impression that only love marriages can lead to a happy life. Unfortunately her father marries her to Gautham who is a chief mechanical engineer in an automobile industry. This is the first scene of the movie.

Suddenly the movie goes 6 years ahead. The wonderful married life of Gautham and Vaishnavi is well picturized. Then Gautham gets a chance to fly to USA for an auto show and by the time he comes back, Vaishnavi reads a diary of his written 6 years back. Through this diary she comes to know about a love story of Gautham with Ishu (Bhumika) in his BE and in that he makes a statement saying even a day with Ishu will make him feel he spent a lifetime with her. He tries to get married to Ishu but her father does not allow that to happen.

After looking at the dairy Vaishanvi feels Gautham is not enjoying his life with her. She feels even if he lives 100 years with her he will not be a happy man as he still feels he did not get complete love.  Hence she meets Ishu and asks her to come to her place and spend a day with her Gautham. I know this seems very impractical, but what impressed me at the end is the point that Gautham tells Ishu that he has only Vaishnavi in his mind now and no one else. Vaishnavi comes to know about this and she is filled with happiness. The important point that I liked about this movie is:

You may love a person or you may have crush on many people, but when you start sharing your life and when you start enjoying your life with a person who loves you, thats when you realize the true love and thats when you dedicate yourself to him/her. This point is shown very clearly in this movie.

Overall I would say, this is worth a watch movie and would be good to watch alone when you feel bored. I am not saying its a great movie but people who are sensitive and emotional might appreciate the movie.

Thanks,

Chaitanya.
